Best Audio/Video Podcast
Vote Me

We actually had no idea until recently that we’ve been nominated as the top 5 podcast on the singapore blog aggregator Ping.sg! So help vote for us! We’re known as “Tech65 by 65bits” (I know it’s reversed, but we never expected to do more than 65bits when we first joined Ping.sg…) in the nomination page.

Thanks so much for your support and your votes!!

Tech65.org is back! Here’s what you missed!

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Hi everyone!
Tech65.org is finally back online for SingNet users! We’ve put together a compilation of all the episodes of Channel65 and 65bits that you probably have missed just for you!

What Happened
If you are a SingNet user, we apologise for the downtime Tech65.org has been having the past few weeks. Something happened over at SingNet that prevented SingNet users from accessing the website unless you had set up your computer to manually connect to SingNet’s proxy server or DNS server. We have been working hard the past few weeks trying to figure out what was wrong, but after a phone call with SingNet, they finally fixed the connection at their side and brought the website back online. On behalf of the Tech65.org crew, I want to thank all of you for your patience, and thank SingNet for their assistance.

What you’ve missed:

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Hello our little Minions,

We the lord-masters of Tech65 have noticed that there are two other compelling events happening on 29 March at what would be the same time as our Live Recording of Episode 65. In light of this startling revelation, we should’ve smote those who dare defy us but have decided in our magnanimity to forgive them their sin and move our 65th Episode to another glorious date: April 5 2008.

It may sadden you the piteous and yet hardy folk who listen to our show that we will however be skipping this week’s podcast, and take a well earned rest, to recharge and savor the fruits of our labors. Also some of us will be attending the other events on the 29th, so expect us to grace you with our presences.

You, humble listener have no choice but to attend on the 5th of April, any excuses will not be tolerated and shall be dealt with with SlaveMaster Farinelli’s Whip of Temerity, Point Guard Jerrick’s Stiletto of Blind Justice, Flautist Daniel’s Double Bass of Resonance, Defenestrator NTT’s Ten Thousand Spikes of the Coconut Tree, and Getaway Car Driver Kai Yi’s Old Laptop of Split Coffee.

Meanwhile, You are commanded to check out the alternate events on the 29th of March:

Social Media Breakfast: Singapore

Web 2.0 - Emerging Industry Series

Thanks to SG Entrepreneurs!

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Long time listener and contributor Bernard Leong and his team over at SG Entrepreneurs have made public their decision to support Tech65 by promoting the latest episodes of 65bits, to bring the latest happenings and trends in technology to their readers. Tech65 would like to thank him and his team for their support, and promise to devote more airtime to technology instead of ever-deviating to cars, girls and Pokemon Pearl.

Nahhhhh kidding. You know we can’t help it. :) No but still, thank you. Very much. Appreciate it.

Creative Reaches the 25 Million MP3 Player Mark

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

Creative today announced with much pleasure that they have hit the 25million unit mark in MP3 player sales.

“Shipment of 25 million MP3 players marks a major milestone in Creative history, as our player unit volume exceeds the combined unit sales from some of the biggest names in consumer electronics,” said Sim Wong Hoo, chairman and CEO of Creative. “We believe that we now have our strongest lineup of MP3 and portable media players ever, as we coutinue to innovate with our recently introduced ZEN Stone, ZEN Stone Plus, and the credit card-sized ZEN.”

Tech65 is proud to be working with Creative, and heartily congratulate them on being recognised as number two in global unit shipments in the IDC March 2007 report on worldwide and U.S. flash and HDD-based portable media player shipments. We are curious, however, as to who managed to bump Creative out of first place.

Creative Announces the GigaWorks® HD50 2.0 Speaker System

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

So this is what Daniel and I went for yesterday morning. In summary that hardly justifies these babies, we were impressed and we were disappointed. Suffice for now to say that if you are a casual listener looking for a more immersive audio experience, this is the speaker system for you this year-end. We have much more coming about how we feel and what we like and don’t like with the full detailed video review over at Channel 65 reeeaaaalll soon, so stay tuned! Meanwhile, facts about and features of these speakers and corresponding pics.

This is Zune2, Houston. We have touchdown.

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Ok guys, w00t or what? C’mon now. W00T OR WHAT???

The Microsoft Zune 2s have been announced, and contrary to early leaks, they actually look fantastique.

The New Zune Family

Ain’t gonna steal the juice from the master, so if you wish to find out more, Engadget did a fantastic sum-up of the new products, new features, and everything new. Read it here.

And we’re back!

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

In case you didn’t notice, Tech65 went down for an upgrade earlier. We’ve upgraded from version 2.1 to version 2.2.2 of Wordpress. Not that you’ll notice any difference, but I think it’s good to stay updated. We don’t do it very often because there are always risks involved when there’s an upgrade, so don’t worry, it happens only every few months that you won’t notice it. :)

Anyway, for those of you who have been affected, thanks for your patience!

Daniel
