Simply Geek #11.1 – Travelling Geeks (Part 1)

As the summer starts to show signs of ending, (at least in the northern hemisphere), many of us are back from holiday vacations. So we gather up a group of geeks who love to travel. Our good friend Preetam Rai, who loves to travel in East Asia; Inder Sen, a traveler who’s recently done a awesome hitchhiking trip in India at a almost impossible budget; and our very own Farinelli to talk about how they continue to be geeky while they travel and experience new people, places and situations. What tools, tricks and tips they use on the road.

This discussion is split into two episodes. This is part 1, and you can find part 2 here in a few days.

  • I think you guys forgot to mention about voltage ratings for adapters. While most (if not all) power adapters should be rated for 100V-240V, it is always wise to check that the voltage rating for the adapter can handle the voltage of the location you are going to. If it can’t handle the voltage buy the necessary transformer to convert the voltage accordingly. You wouldn’t be wanting to fry your power adapter when you’re on the go and possibly having no way to charge/use your device
