HTC Hero First Look (HD Video)

Daniel and Justin were at the HTC Hero launch in Singapore and give a sneak preview on what to expect from HTC’s latest Android phone. So far I’m quite impressed by the phone. As you can see by the video, HTC created some really useful fully featured widgets like SMS, email and calendar clients that let you read your SMSes emails and events from the home screen like you would on a HTC Touch Windows Mobile phone. It’s like a “build-your-own” HTC TouchFlo.

The phone will be available in brown and white from mid September on all three carriers in Singapore for a suggested retail price of S$898.

Was waiting for this, thanks for the short and sharp first look. I don’t suppose HTC has a trade-in program for those of us with older Android-based phones? My HTC Dream’s only 6 months old but the keyboard’s a little loopy already.

Kinda disappointed. Was hoping that Singapore will get the “chinless” version of the HTC hero, which looks a lot nice.

Hmm I prefer the chinned version. It looks sleeker, and more professional. The silverness in the American Sprint version turns me off.

    the first look seems great.
    how abt the “chin”?
u guys hv chance to put in pocket, does it look big in pocket, like “hard-on”?

Will they be having the new HTC Sense on Magic ? Not sure if it is worth upgrading from Magic to Hero.

Yes they will. The upgrade will be free for Magic users, but will only be out in November.

Daniel Tsou is our fabulous host, who decides mostly what we talk about and basically calls the shots, Yes, he does. I, writer of this bio on Mr Tsou is very much afraid that by commiting this post to words, I will be dragged off in the night by a black Truck, or a Segway more like. Other than that, Daniel is tall, lived for a period of time in Venezuela and Spain, and is enthusiastic for all things tech.
