Remember Episode 95 when we talked about the downloading podcast directly on your iPhone feature which is expected to be released with firmware 2.2? Apple released the much awaited iPhone firmware 2.2 update on 20th Nov. I installed it on my iPhone the moment I book out from my reservist.
The first feature I tried is the podcast downloading feature. That is one of my biggest wishlist for iPhone. So I went to the iPod applications, click to 65 bit podcast (Shameless plug) and at the bottom of the page is feature to “Get More Epsiodes…”
I click on it and the iPhone switches over to iTunes and…… *BANG*.
“Cannot Connect to the iTunes Store. The iTunes Store is not supported in this country”
Brilliant. Simply brilliant. Which means those who are living in countries without iTunes Store (like Singapore) still will not be able to download podcast directly from their iPhone. Let’s hope its just a minor oversight.
Other bug fixes and enhancements on firmware 2.2:

We actually planned to take a break this week when we came across this story that we just could not resist talking about. Seriously, you have got to hear it. I’m not even going to spoil it for you. All I’m gonna say is that it is udderly insane, and has something to do with very creative cows. Nuff’ said, and enjoy.
Mooooooooooving swiftly along,
Daniel, NTT, Farinelli and Hisham
P.S.: We’ll be right back to our normal program next Saturday at Geek Terminal! No comments
I’ve been a Tablet PC user for more than 3 years now, and I really like my Tablet PC, even until today. As much as Tablet PCs are now nothing more than “an extra feature” compared to being a “special class of notebooks”, I still think that Tablet PCs are perfect machines for students. There are many kinds of technologies that make Tablet PCs work, each with it’s pros and cons, but none that brings all the advantages together.
There’s a lot of technical jargon in this article that I will attempt to explain in great detail to what it is, and how they work. Just thought I’d warn you first. Oh, and all this is based on what I’ve read up in the past. I’m no expert in this, so if you are, please tell me if I made something up!1 Comment
So Adobe just launched CS4 in Singapore last Friday, and now Daniel just can’t stop talking about it. To be honest, if you’re a heavy user of adobe products, you’ll be as impressed as Daniel was. Fortunately, if you’re not, there’s always the show notes to help you skip Daniel’s “omigosh, omigosh!”s to hear about stream computing, mobile operating systems and how to have video conversations right inside your browser, because we’re all more geek than designer. NTT more than anyone else.
Oh, and “rm -r /” to you too!*
Daniel, NTT (welcome back!), Farinelli and DK.

This week’s recording was a race against time because we weren’t at our usual location, and had a dying laptop and no power plug. This week’s recording also successfully proved that we’re in the pre-Christmas lull, that equally magical window of the year where 3 weeks worth of stories turn out to be less than one week’s usual worth. Well you’ll see the other extreme real soon. HP released Touchsmart’s codes to developers, Windows 7 is shown off at PDC and it looks promising, and Starhub malu-ated as they fail to deliver their declaration of all Singaporean telcos selling the iPhone by the end of this year.5 Comments
